The Oxford and Blenheim Tour 1

Blenheim followed by a memorable afternoon at Oxford

Discover views like this on a groupdaysout coach tour

Enjoy one of the most popular days out in our portfolio. Your qualified guide will meet you at Blenheim Palace and you will enjoy a full conducted tour of the home of the 11th Duke of Marlborough. As the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, voted BBC2's Greatest Briton of all time, a new exhibition examines the inspiration that Sir Winston took from his illustrious ancestor John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough. You have the choice of visiting the house with the famous Blenheim tapestries, paintings, porcelain, sculptures and fine furniture or spending your time in the 100 acres of lovely formal gardens originally designed by 'Capability' Brown. You will take lunch here.

After lunch you will travel to the City of Oxford and take a coach journey around the outer parts of the city with full commentary. You will pass Worcester College, the garage where William Morris founded MG cars, and the Rhodes Library. Your guide will also escort you on a short walk to see Christ Church with its Tom Tower designed by Sir Christopher Wren. There may be time to see other sights and your guide will describe just some of the vast academic, artistic and literary history associated with this world famous city.

At the end of your tour there will be time for individual exploration of some of the areas less accessible to a large group or to just sit at one of the many cafes and watch the visitors from all over the world pass by.
