The Warwickshire Panoramic Tour

A leisurely tour in tranquil countryside.

Discover the beautiful Warwickshire Countryside (Image courtesy of Shakespearecountry.co.uk)

Your guide will meet you at Hatton Shopping Village near Warwick for morning coffee and the opportunity to look at some of the outlets. You will then travel through the tranquil Warwickshire countryside to the historic town of Kenilworth. Your guide will point out the many items of interest including the Abbey Fields with the ruin of the Abbey of St Mary the Virgin, High Street and Bridge Street with their many listed buildings and, of course, the castle. As you pass Kenilworth Castle you will see what is considered to be the finest ruined castle in Britain as well as the largest. From Kenilworth you will travel to the beautiful village of Tanworth in Arden in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside. The history of the area will be explained and the many interesting properties highlighted.

From Tanworth you will pass to Henley in Arden with one of Britain's most unspoilt high streets including many fine old timber-framed buildings from the 15th and 16th centuries, the Market Cross and several former coaching inns. The earthworks of the 12th century motte and bailey castle can still be seen next to the Norman Church of St Nicholas. You will break for lunch in Henley.

On leaving Henley in Arden you will take a panoramic tour of more of the tranquil Warwickshire countryside, passing through Wilmcote, the location of the home of William Shakespeare's mother Mary Arden. At the end of your tour you will arrive back at Hatton Shopping Village where you can visit those shops there was not time for in the morning or just relax with a cup of tea.
