Meet your guide in Hereford, famous for cider, bulls and the SAS. Take morning refreshments before travelling through the Herefordshire countryside to see some of England’s most attractive and interesting villages. Driving through the village of Mansell Lacey, you will visit Weobley, founded on the medieval wool trade and ‘Village of the Year’ in 1999. From Weobley, you will travel to Dilwyn, where the parish church dates back to around 1200 AD like so many in Herefordshire. Leaving Dilwyn you will travel to the attractive village of Kingsland and on to Leominster, Herefordshire’s main market town. After lunch you will travel through Monkland to the attractive village of Eardisland, situated on the banks of the River Arrow. Eardisland is home to the 12th century Church of St Mary the Virgin and the Eardisland Dovecote, an unusual Georgian dovecote located in a beautiful riverside setting. You will then travel through Pembridge to Kington one of Herefordshire’s five market towns. Leaving Kington, you will enjoy the wonderful scenic views of the Welsh borderlands as you travel to Eardisley, another intriguing black and white village. You will then return to Hereford by road, alongside the River Wye and end your day with a visit to the Cider Museum. Here you will have the opportunity to take refreshments in the museum café. You will then say goodbye to your guide and return home.
