![]() The Cotswold Panoramic Tour ![]() Join your guide in Broadway, in the heart of the Cotswolds. The Lygon Arms on its' mile long village street was home to both Charles I and Oliver Cromwell at different times in the English Civil War. Within the village, Broadway Tower has a colourful history as home to the artist, designer, writer, craftsman, and socialist William Morris. At 1024ft above sea level the tower is one of England's outstanding viewpoints. It is possible to view an area that includes as many as thirteen counties. Travel through the countryside to the lovely market town of Winchcombe with its Sudely Castle, once the home of Catherine Parr, the last of Henry VIIIs six wives. The castle stands in parkland with a superb display of ancient yew hedges. On then to Bourton on the Water with its 17th century low stone bridges across the River Windrush. Travel then along the Roman Foss Way to Stow on the Wold. Stow was once the most prosperous wool town in England, and it shows. Lunch can be taken in any of the many teashops or inns. The Royalist Hotel is a Grade II listed building that ranks amongst the top 4% of protected buildings in the country, and certified as the Oldest Inn in England, dating from 947AD. After lunch you will progress through Moreton in the Marsh and Chipping Campden with its 17th Century Market Hall to Dover's Hill. From the 754ft summit of Dover's Hill, on a clear day, you can see the Black Mountains of South Wales and the Long Mynd almost 60 miles away. From Dover's Hill you will return to Broadway where your guide will leave you.
