How and when do we pay? 12. What if we need to cancel? 13. What if we have a question that is not dealt with in this question & answer section? Q1. How large or small should our group be? A. Our tour prices are based on a minimum of 35 adults and an absolute maximum of 57. We will gladly accept bookings for less than 35 members but regret that you will be charged for 35, less any entrance fees not required. Q2. Is wheelchair access available during the tour? A. Most of our tours are fully wheelchair accessible, but not all. Please enquire prior to booking and we will then advise you on the suitability of the tour. Q3. What sort of coach should I book? A. The choice of coach is entirely your decision as long as it includes a front seat for the guide and a working microphone. Double Deckers are not acceptable. Q4. How is the price set? A. The price shown for each tour is the price per person based on a minimum of 35 adults joining the tour. When concessionary entrance fees are available, a separate price is listed on that tour. Q5. What is included in the price? A. The price covers the fully planned tour itinerary, the cost of our fully qualified Guide and the full cost of any entrance fees incurred as part of the tour, together with any VAT chargeable. Q6. What is not included in the price? A. The cost of the coach hire and any coach parking fees is not included in the price as you will book the coach locally. When you seek a quote from the coach company, you will be able to tell them the route and tour mileage as we include this in the tour description. Our tour price does not include the cost of morning coffee, afternoon tea or lunch except where clearly stated in the tour description. We do, however, select very appropriate locations and a good choice of venue is usually offered for lunch including facilities for enjoying a packed lunch. Q7. How much walking is involved in each tour? A. Whilst the actual walking distance varies from tour to tour, we are conscious of the fact that a large proportion of our customers may not enjoy an Olympic level of fitness and not all will be full of youthful vigour. We have split the level of walking during each tour into three categories, which are identifiable by a walking symbol at the bottom of the tour description:
Q8. What actually does the guide do? A. Our guides are all fully qualified guides who have been selected, trained and examined by the official British tourist boards to bring your tour to life. They will tell you things about the area that you could not easily find out for yourself. The training is detailed and comprehensive, the examinations rigorous and registration an achievement. Our guides take pride in constantly updating their knowledge to enable their visitors to enjoy Britain’s immense, unique and varied heritage. They are practical, punctual and reliable and thrive on the unexpected. They are not only guides; they are expert couriers and will look after you from the start of your tour to the end. Apart from knowing what William Shakespeare had for breakfast, they know where you can spend a penny quickly! Q9. Do we liaise with your Coach Company? A. Your coach represents a crucial element of your tour and we liaise closely with the coach operator to ensure that everything runs like clockwork. We supply them with the full itinerary and full contact details of your tour guide as well as answering any queries they may have. Q10. How do we book? A. There is a booking section in this online portfolio, and also within the hard-copy portfolio. If you do have any questions redarding the booking process, feel free to contact the Group Days Out team on 01949 869005. The available 7 easy steps guide you through the procedure. But never be afraid to pick up the phone or email us to discuss anything we have not made clear. Q11. How and when do we pay? A. We ask for a £25 deposit at the time of booking with the full balance required 14 days prior to the date of your tour. Cheques should be made payable to Group Days Out Ltd. Q12. What if we need to cancel? A. We acknowledge that when you are trying to co-ordinate events on behalf of a large group, things can and do go wrong. If you need to cancel more than 14 days before the tour date, there is no commitment to pay the balance and we will credit your deposit so you can use it for any future Group Days Out tour. If an individual drops out, as long as the minimum number of passengers remains at 35, we will refund that person’s tour price, less any entrance fee that we are unable to retrieve. Q13. What if we have a question that is not dealt with in this question & answer section? A. Pick up the phone or email us and we’ll answer any queries you may have. If we don’t know the answer, I promise you we know people who will.
